Create a team

To create a team, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Dashboard and click on the 'Create a Team' table.

  2. Fill out your team information.

    • In the Season drop down box, if the team participates in league play (even if it also plays tournaments), select League Team. If the team is tournament only (including one-time tournament rosters), select Tournament Team.
    • In the Class drop down box, select the appropriate classifications. Note that “League Only’ is an option for MSP and WSP. All coed teams (CESP) should select Open. If you submit an inaccurate classification, you will not be able to change it after the team is created. Please contact your local league, tournament director (if applicable), or the State Office to get it changed. 
  3. Click 'Create a Team'.

At this time, team registration fees are not paid through Register Play. They are still paid directly to the league or tournament. 

Build your roster

To invite a player who is not registered on the platform to your team, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Dashboard page and click on the 'My Team's' tab.

  2. You will see a list of your teams. Click the yellow roster button for the team you want to invite the player to.

  3. After the next page loads, click the green 'Invite Players' button.

  4. Enter the player's first and last name, and provide their email address.

  5. Click 'Send Invite' to send the invitation.

To invite an existing player to your team, follow these steps:

  1. Log in and access the Dashboard.

  2. Click on the 'My Team's' tab.

  3. Click on the roster of the team to which you want to add the player.

  4. Click 'Invite Players' and search for the existing player.

  5. Select the state the player is from and enter their name.

  6. Click 'Search'. If the player is found, click 'Invite'. The player will receive an invitation. Once they accept, they will be added to your team roster.

To invite a player using the roster password, follow these steps:

  1. Log in and access the Dashboard.

  2. Click on the 'My Team's' tab.

  3. If there is a blue Roster Psw button in the Action column for your team, send that password to your players. If there is a yellow key icon button, click on it to reveal the roster password.

  4. Players can join the team with that password by completing the following steps:

Join a league

All teams that are part of a local league must join that league on Register Play in order for us to more easily organize the online rosters. If your league will be run on Register Play, this is where the schedule, scores, & standings will be updated throughout the season.

  1. Make sure you are logged in and navigate to the “Leagues” page.

  2. Find your league in the list and click on the league name. By default, the list is sorted by start date, but you can click on the Event Name header to sort by name.

  3. On the event details page, click on the 'Enter' button. The system will show any teams you have available to enter into the event.

  4. Next, choose a payment option, which could include sending a check, using PayPal or Venmo, or using a credit card, depending on the options set by the league. Most leagues are not using an online payment option at this time.

  5. After entering your information, click 'Enter' to complete the process.

Join a tournament

  1. Make sure you are logged in and navigate to the appropriate tournament page: Invitational, State, or National.

  2. Find the tournament in the list and click on its name. By default, the list is sorted by start date, but you can click on the Event Name header to sort by name.

  3. On the event details page, click on the 'Enter' button for the division of play you want to join. The system will show any teams you have available to enter into the event.

  4. Next, choose a payment option, which could include sending a check, using PayPal or Venmo, or using a credit card, depending on the options set by the tournament director.

  5. After entering your information, click 'Enter' to complete the process.
