Grand Forks’ DaLee Wilkinson named to Executive Council

USA Softball of North Dakota is pleased to announce the addition of DaLee Wilkinson to our Executive Council. DaLee’s addition brings the number of women on the Council to three as she joins Women’s Slow Pitch Commissioner Amy Anderson and Chastity Schafer. DaLee represents Grand Forks where she is not only considered to be one of the best players in the state, but has taken on a significant role with the local men’s & women’s leagues.

The vacancy filled by DaLee was created by Wayne Beyer, who will be stepping away as he retires from his position as Director of the Wahpeton Parks & Recreation Department. Beyer, a 1999 North Dakota Softball Hall of Fame inductee, “has been a great ambassador for the Sport of Softball in North Dakota for many years,” according to President Jack Lukes. “You could always count on Wayne for any help from the Wahpeton area. Wayne always had some great input at our State meetings. He will be truly missed in our organization as an understanding, true gentleman and a great friend.” Jack sums up all of our thoughts when he says, “Enjoy your retirement Wayne - well deserved, but still sorry to see you leave.”

Two other potential openings on the Executive Council were filled with the reappointments of Darin Krueger of Williston through 2024 and Scott Collins of Minot through 2022.

On the Hall of Fame Council, Walt Stack has chosen to step down as President and retire from the Council. With 3 openings, Amy Anderson (already serving the role of Secretary for this committee), Mike Peterson, and Scott Brahos have received appointments. Scott Collins and Vice President Mark Vanyo have also been reappointed for three additional years each. At the end of this year's Hall of Fame Council meeting, Mike Wolf was elected the new President.

In other committee news, Roger Weigel and Wayne Becker (both from Bismarck) have been named to the Men’s Masters Committee. Meanwhile, the Tournament Series Committee has been expanded to include Nick Gulmon (Fargo) and Tommy Shaw (Minot).
