Kids age 7-13 welcome to participate baseball/softball activities

UPDATE (MAY 2, 2019): Registration is now open at the PlayBall.org website.

There is something new & exciting for McQuade Tournament this year . The McQuade Tournament has partnered with Major League Baseball , USA Softball and the Minnesota Twins to bring the first ever MLB/USA Softball “Play Ball” event to North Dakota!

Play Ball is for kids ages 7-13 and offers a variety of activity stations associated with the game . Each child receives a t-shirt , wristbands and ball from MLB/USA Softball . There is no cost to the kids or local community. All MLB asks is use of a baseball/softball facility and volunteers for registration & the activity stations. It is an MLB goal to bring Play Ball to all 50 states.

Our plan is to host the Play Ball event as the opening activity for the 2019 McQuade Tournament. We have secured use of Bismarck Municipal Ball Park on Thursday June 27. The schedule of events will be registration 4:00 – 5:30 , Play Ball activity stations 5:30-7:00, followed by an exhibition game featuring the newly rebranded USA Patriots (formerly Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team ) vs. local Celebrity All Star team beginning at 7:30. Dakota Community Bank will provide a hot dog , chips & beverage to all participating kids before the exhibition game . The McQuade Tournament Committee is hoping the Thursday night event will allow more people than ever to watch the USA Patriots/WWAST play . It is possible a former player or two from the Twins may attend as well .

Online Registration will be available 60 days in advance at www.playball.org/events . Registrations will be limited to the first 250 kids. Anyone interested in helping as a volunteer with either registration or the activity stations please contact Cheryl Jones at 701-426-8701 or cajones213@gmail.com.  More details will be announced as they become available.
